Immigration: Tories Need To Listen More

One of the latest YouGov polls has indicated that people are not satisfied with the Conservatives' stance on immigration.
A sample of 1,225 voters taken in Yorkshire and Humberside (on January 12th) reveals that when asked if the Conservatives "are listening to people on immigration", only 16% agreed, and a majority 40% disagreed. Furthermore, when asked if the Conservatives should "take a tougher stance on immigration", 62% agreed with only 15% disagreeing.
Of course, we cannot eliminate the fact that perhaps some members of the sample were Labour supporters, and hence stated that the Conservatives should tackle immigration more so they would lose alot of support from the "anti-racist" proletariat.....but then again, considering Yorkshire has a large Conservative majority, we could probably say that these stats are around 70% accurate.
Either way you look at them, i think Cameron may want to take note that his party support seems to be indicating that a tougher policy on immigration is required within his manifesto. Fair enough Cameron is trying to achieve Labour support at the same time, but the Conservatives have always stood for controlling the British borders, so in the light of these survey results, it would be stupid for Cameron to ignore these demands, especially at such a critical time where immigration seems out of control within Britain.

Not really, he just wants to get into power. Simple. Just like Blair and Brown he doesn't give a toss about the country... so long as he wins the election.
Are you talking about the immigration into Monmouthshire? I read somewhere than 70% of houses sold in the last few years were bought by people from across the Welsh border.
I'm a heartbroken ex Tory and I'm no longer ashamed to admit I'm considering the BNP (my PTA group got me interested) Not a skinhead amongst them. I no longer care how Right wing they are, I want results fast to a growing and ignored Muslim threat.
I do not believe platitudes about The religion of peace because I have looked at the misery Islam causes around the world to others and its own.
Everyone else appears to wandering around in some kind of Qu'ran induced trance while bombs go off, cartoon protests, and death threats to the Pope go unnoticed by the most beatific police "service" in living memory.
The police seem to have that fixed submissive grin hounds get when you reprimand them.
This is the most corrupt and traiterous government I've ever seen yet Cameron refuses to act like a man. A vote for him would be more of the same and I along with many of the electorate are looking for something very different.
As an aside, I thought you may like to see a funny little snippet doing the internet rounds. (Mine came via an e-mail from Eire)

Vicky, are you saying you want to throw you're lot in with: the thick, poorly educated, the corrupt, the racist, the violent and the lazy? A vote for the BNP is a vote for anarchy and social decay. You like what's happening in Iraq do you? That's anarchy. How internationally responsible do you think Nick Griffin would be? How would this holocaust denier treat Iran? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Griffin
Vicky I'd much rather people support join the animal rights lunatics than these scum. Read some books, develop your brain not your prejudices and your hate.
Dont be silly anon. You are simply quoting from the big Book of Marxist soundbites (1st Campus Edition)
For lessons on Holocaust denial look no further than our proxy leaders in the MCB consulted on every aspect of life these days (including permission to search areas of the Realm no longer under British rule)and the sterling work they and their reps put in to have Holocaust Memorial Day scrapped in Bolton this year. No lectures please about something Griffin have said in a foolish youthful moment.
Many of our elected leaders have said or done things we will read about at leisure at some point in the future in The daily Mail.
The old howls of Racist and Nazi sound so stupid in the light of recent events and constant appeasement.
The Far Right may be a protest vote but I think it may be a rather significant protest.
In the absence of even one functioning testicle in government, or sadly, Opposition a protest vote is just so British dont you think?
We have little experience of gaining what we want by threats of beheadings you see, so the ballot will have to do.
The country is a mess in case you haven't noticed, sending ones child to one of the battery farms that pass for schools is fraught with danger. If the unregistered driver or the mugger doesn't get them a classmate or relative of a classmate will.
Or perhaps the kids will nod off during another lesson on how awful it is to be white, and having the cheek to like it.
This is where Dave should be coming in, the Saviour of the downtrodden, but no, he's twirling and pouting for the huge block Muslim vote too.
The Tony and Dave Pole dancing Duo don't like me anymore, and I dont like them. Perhaps when they've counted all those protest votes we can kiss and make up?
I doubt Vicky will be alone if the Tories don't grow a back bone.
At the very least there will be a large swing to UKIP... if not further to the 'right' (or 'left'... depending on how you view the BNP).
There is a fair amount of modding going on over at the Conservative party site, with criticisms of Dave vanishing. He's not that popular really, not with seasoned Tories who've been condemned to the indignity of the "Major Project" The "Hague Conspiracy" and so on. Unfortunately the recent demonisation and sacking of a veteran army man who was mentioned in Dispatches put the tin hat on it.Racism is the new sexism and Dave cant miss a bandwagon rolling by without sticking out a chubby hand.
UKIP are seen as a bit of a government/Tory sponsored running horse to dilute Right wing votes for the BNP so I'm not sure how many genuine Right wingers will sanction them.
Keep up the good work.
